Spell out Unemployment policy: Wenge

FLAMBOYANT Morobe Governor Luther Wenge has hit out at the government for the lack of an Unemployment policy.

In a series of questions to the Prime Minister Grand Chief Sir Michael Somare the Morobe Governor asked why the government did not have one.

"Can you ask the Labour Minister to table in parliament this government's Unemployment policy?"

"If the minister can not do it, can you push him or sack him," said an irate Wenge.

Mr Wenge said unemployment was a main cause of the law and order problems and unless, it was prioritised, the problem would compound.

He also said successive governments have turned a blind eye on this pivotal issue, resulting in the current status.

However Prime Minister Sir Michael Somare responded that it was true that jobs will not be created for everyone, but there was a slight increase in employment.

Sir Michael assured the Governor that he would direct the Labour Minister  Roy Biyama to table the report, which will cover the last four years.
